Summertime… 2026 !

We have a lot going on over the next few months.   We'll be playing our usual haunts….Territorial Winery, Gratitude, Freindly Garden, etc.   We just picked up a fun afternoon at the Mt. Pisgah Mushroom Festival for October.  Should be a hoot.    For a “destination” event, we'll be playing at Sarver Winery in August.    This gig will be weather dependent…so if it's raining, it may cancel, but if it's sunny, come out for some tunes and a glass or two of wine!   I'm sure we'll be adding more as the summer moves on.  All dates are listed in our calendar below.

Gone, but not forgotten…. Bobby;  Click on his picture for a rendition of “Jack Straw” we did at The White Bird Benefit at The Garden on Friendly, on 3/24/2026.  It was a barn burner and we're so happy to play it in tribute.  Our good friend, Dan Parslow, who's become a regular Rube, playing guitar with us frequently, is featured.  He's a massive talent and an awsome shredder!

There's a new recording of  “Playing in the Band” on the music page too.  Check it out.

Hope to see you at a show soon!

Masonic Cemetery 5/24/2026: Playing with our friend Chris Ward, for the living and the dead.:)   What a beautiful day and setting.  Thanks to all that came out.

The Rubes at the Mushroom Festival, Mt. Pisgah

Mount Pisgah Arboretum , Eugene, OR

Mount Pisgah Arboretum is a 209-acre nature education facility where visitors can explore the ecology of the southern Willamette Valley. As a nonprofit organization, we depend on support from members, donors, and volunteers to care for our trails and facilities, and to provide learning opportunities for the community.

Rockin the valley for 10+ years

Classic, Roots, Americana

Playing in Eugene and the Willamette Valley for many years, The Dubious Rubes has entertained crowds in many local venues and parts beyond.  We play Americana; those songs we appreciate within that genre,  as well originals from Patrick Kavaney that blend into that milieu.  Think Watkins Glen or the Fillmore West, or maybe even Ronny Scott's; we try to capture that element and provide our crowds that spontaneity and energy...every show.

We play small footprint shows as a duo(Patrick & Mike), trio (Patrick, Mike & Kris), and a full lineup as stage space and venue allow.

Our concept is also to  frequently play with a variety of guest musicians.  It’s always a thrill to add another voice to the mix, and we try to tailor shows to highlight our guest. Always a high energy show you’re sure to enjoy!
