Happy Spring 2026 !

We have a lot going on over the next few months.  We are the opener for the Emerald Park live summer music series.  We'll be joined by John Shipe, a good friend and a renowned singer/songwriter in these parts.    As well, and never thought I'd say this, but we actually have a gig at a cemetery; the Eugene Masonic cemetery!  We'll be playing some Dead for the dead.  Dates are below.

Still missing Bobby;  Click on his picture for a rendition of “Jack Straw” we did at The White Bird Benefit at The Garden on Friendly, on 3/24/2026.  It was a barn burner and we're so happy to play it in tribute.  Our good friend, Dan Parslow, who's been playing guitar with us frequently, is featured.  He's a massive talent and an awsome shredder!

There's a new recording of  “Playing in the Band” on the music page.  Check it out.

Hope to see you at a show soon!

Rockin the valley for 10+ years

Classic, Roots, Americana

Playing in Eugene and the Willamette Valley for many years, The Dubious Rubes has entertained crowds in many local venues and parts beyond.  We play Americana; those songs we apprciate within that genre,  as well originals from Patrick Kavaney that blend into that milieu.  Think Watkins Glen or the Fillmore West, or maybe even Ronny Scott's; we try to capture that element and provide our crowds that spontaneity and energy...every show.

We play small footprint shows as a duo(Patrick & Mike), trio (Patrick, Mike & Kris), and a full lineup as stage space and venue allow.

Our concept is also to  frequently play with a variety of guest musicians.  It’s always a thrill to add another voice to the mix, and we try to tailor shows to highlight our guest. Always a high energy show you’re sure to enjoy!

Thanks for coming by, and stop out and see us sometime, or say hi on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DubiousRubes
